How often should you have your home professionally cleaned?

Weekly, biweekly, or monthly? How to choose a professional cleaning schedule based on your household, your home, and your budget.

There's no single right answer to how often you should have your home cleaned. It depends on who lives there, how you use the space, and what you want to spend. Here's how to think it through.

Weekly cleaning

Best for: families with young kids, homes with pets, people who cook a lot, and anyone who wants the home to always feel guest-ready.

Weekly cleaning means your home never gets past "a little lived-in." Bathrooms and kitchens stay consistently clean, pet hair never piles up, and each visit is relatively quick, which keeps the cost per visit lower.

Biweekly cleaning

Best for: couples, small families, and busy professionals. This is our most popular schedule.

Every two weeks is the sweet spot for most households. You handle quick daily tidying, and we handle the real cleaning before buildup becomes a problem. Bathrooms and kitchens stay in good shape between visits.

Monthly cleaning

Best for: one-person apartments, people who travel often, and households that keep up with cleaning themselves but want a professional reset.

Monthly visits take longer than weekly or biweekly ones because there's more to catch up on, so they cost more per visit, but less overall.

One-time and seasonal deep cleans

Even with regular cleaning, a deep clean two to four times a year handles baseboards, fixtures, and detail work. Without regular cleaning, a deep clean before holidays or at the change of seasons keeps things from getting away from you.

Questions to ask yourself

  1. Do you have pets? Pet hair usually means weekly cleaning.
  2. Do you have young kids? More people and more messes point to weekly or biweekly.
  3. How much do you cook? Kitchens with daily cooking build up grease quickly.
  4. Does anyone have allergies? Frequent dusting and vacuuming help.
  5. How often do you have guests? If often, choose a schedule that keeps you guest-ready.
  6. What's your budget? Biweekly is often the best balance of cost and cleanliness.

Start with a deep clean

If you haven't had professional cleaning recently, start with one deep clean, then pick your recurring schedule. That way every recurring visit starts from a clean baseline. Learn more about recurring house cleaning.

You can always change it

Your schedule isn't permanent. Many clients start biweekly, then move to weekly when life gets busier or monthly when it slows down. Call or text us any time to adjust, or request a quote to get started.
