I'm Jonathan Nieves, owner of Mr. Spotless Cleaning in Rosedale, Queens. Here's the checklist I'd use if I were hiring a cleaner for my own home.
1. Ask what's included, in writing
A "regular clean" and a "deep clean" are different jobs. Ask for the checklist. Any good service should be able to show you theirs.
2. Ask how pricing works
Is it hourly or flat? Is there a minimum? Our deep cleaning is $70/hour with a 3-hour minimum ($210), as listed on our deep cleaning page.
3. Ask about supplies
Do they bring products and equipment? Can they use yours if you have allergies or pets?
4. Check NYC logistics
Doorman sign-in, parking, and walk-up stairs all affect timing. A good service asks about these up front.
5. Read recent reviews
Look for reviews that mention the borough and the type of job you need.
